Position Description

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our products and systems at client locations. Your technical expertise and dedication to exceptional service will play a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the integrity of our offerings.

  • Reports to: Field Service Manager 
  • Travel is required up to 75%

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installations, inspections, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of our products and equipment according to established guidelines and safety protocols.
    Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues reported by clients, utilizing your knowledge of system components and functions to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Interact directly with clients in a professional and courteous manner. Provide clear explanations of service procedures, issue resolutions, and preventive measures to maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Accurately document service activities, including detailed work reports, equipment maintenance logs, and parts usage. Ensure all documentation is complete, organized, and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Conduct performance tests and system checks following installations and repairs to validate proper functionality and adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, calibration, and adjustments, to ensure optimal performance and prolong the lifespan of equipment.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring availability for on-site service tasks. Collaborate with the Field Service Coordinator to manage parts procurement and replenishment.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations during field service activities. Identify and address potential safety hazards to protect both yourself and clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, industry trends, and technological advancements through ongoing training and self-directed learning.
  • Provide remote technical support to clients when applicable, offering guidance and instructions to resolve minor issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and customer support, to address complex technical challenges and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or technical certification preferred.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) as a field service technician or in a related technical role.
  • Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with relevant tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, mechanical components, and relevant software.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing work environments.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment.
