Position Description

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Field Service Manager to lead our dynamic team of field service technicians. The Field Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing the efficient execution of field service operations, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, and optimizing the utilization of resources. This role requires a strong blend of leadership, technical expertise, and customer-focused communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • TLead, coach, and develop a team of field service technicians to deliver exceptional service quality. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment to ensure high performance and engagement.
  • Oversee all aspects of field service operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and tracking of service requests. Ensure timely response and resolution of customer issues while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a point of contact for escalated issues and ensuring that customer expectations are met or exceeded. Collaborate with the sales team to identify potential upsell opportunities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to field service technicians, assisting in troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring proper maintenance and repair techniques are followed.
  • Implement performance metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of field service operations. Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for streamlining processes.
  • Enforce adherence to safety protocols, industry regulations, and company policies within the field service team. Conduct regular safety training and audits to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Allocate and manage resources, including personnel, tools, and equipment, to optimize service delivery efficiency. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely availability of necessary materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work orders, service reports, and customer interactions. Generate comprehensive reports for management review and strategic decision-making.
  • Budget Oversight: Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage the field service budget. Monitor expenses, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in field service operations, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibility and leadership.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand complex technical systems.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Proficiency in using field service management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to field service activities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel as needed to various customer sites and company locations.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
